Introduction

Hey! Why are you messing with the Status Quo?
Status Quo… a latin phrase meaning “the existing state of affairs especially as it relates to social, religious, political, or military systems.”
There’s a whole new change coming not a subtle shift.
Change is inevitable in every single part of life…
You must make a conscious decision to go with the new… because the old is familiar and comfortable… and you’re going to want to stay there.

The Ezekiel 36:25-27… “And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you.”
Isaiah 43:18-19… Remember not the former things… behold, I am doing a new thing;
Lamentations 3:22-23… The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
Conclusion
Questions for Discussion and Reflection:
- Are you ready and willing to follow Jesus into a new direction for your life?
- Have you been feeling a tug toward a new direction? Has God been, by the Holy Spirit in scripture, in conversation, or in circumstance, pulling you into something new?
- Are you hanging on to the old and comfortable ways of living rather than intentionally seeking after what God has for you?
- Are you coasting into the finish line.
- What is one way that God is coaxing you out of your comfort that you’ve been resisting and will you take a step into this week?
