Introduction

“God has yet to bless anyone except where they are.  And if we faithlessly discard situation after situation, moment after moment, as not being right, we will simply have no place to receive His Kingdom into our lives.”

-Dallas Willard

We are children of the City of God living in the City of Man.

We live by the principles of the city we’re from as ambassadors to the city in which we live.

Daniel 3 & 6

We engage, influence, and seek the welfare of the city in which we live.

Romans 15:1 – 2, 13

“If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.”

-Mother Teresa

Questions for Reflection

  1. What is bothering you about the City in which you live… not just the city, but the state and country? Write everything you can think of on a piece of paper.
  2. Take time to evaluate your list and separate out those things you can influence from those things you can’t.
  3. Decide how you will move on the things you can influence.
  4. Is God calling you to step into a more public arena? If so, where or how?
  5. Can you commit yourself to pray for the welfare of the City, State, and Country?
